Funerals, Memorials & Celebrations of Life

Please accept my condolences if you are reading this at a time of bereavement.

My dearest wish is that I can ease things for you by supporting you and sensitively guiding  you through the creation of a funeral service / celebration of life that will truly reflect, celebrate and commemorate your loved one in the best way possible.

Whether an intimate gathering or a large celebration of life ceremony, religious or non religious, I will help you select the music, readings, rituals, prayers  and stories that reflect the values and personality of your loved one, and weave them into a creative and  heartfelt service. As a Funeral Celebrant, I officiate memorials, funerals, and celebration of life ceremonies with warmth and sensitivity and gentle humour. My open delivery puts everyone at ease and I have a gift of communication  that soothes and comforts.

I spend many hours preparing every service that I write and conduct, offering you a personalised and professional ceremony and I welcome the opportunity to share my expertise with you to create a truly memorable service.

As a bereavement and grief counsellor I understand that people in grief won’t always remember what you said, but they will remember exactly how you made them feel.

I am always grateful to hear how uplifted others feel after one of my funeral services, acknowledging the grief of course but allowing for grace, gratitude and healing in the process of letting go.

I am often asked to sing as part of a funeral service and will be able to share some beautiful simple songs that can enhance and bless and personalise a service and would be honoured to do so.

Green Funerals

I’m an expert in natural burial, green funerals, and home funerals and can give you some wonderful ideas of beautiful and unique places to hold your services if you were looking for something a bit different, including a breathtaking redwood forest.

I offer Celebrations of life that can even take place before death – a living funeral can enable you to say goodbye  in community with your loved ones. I have many wonderful rituals that can involve all of the generations to feel a part of the transition.

I often work with those who wish to plan their own funeral can be a creative and enriching experience. Thinking ahead and  planning ones own funeral can be a beautiful gift and offering for your loved ones. I can also help you design a ceremony to support the scattering of ashes.

Pet Funerals & Farewells

Many experts believe that holding some form of ceremony or ritual can help us cope with the loss of a treasured animal friend. I have been privileged to lead many blessing ceremonies whether in a pet funeral homes or crematoriums, in a family garden or at a favourite walking place.

I truly understand how often the loss of a family pet can be as painful as losing a family member and quite rightly that relationship and animal friend should be honoured and commemorated in a way that feels right for you.

There are many touching poems and readings and prayers that I can weave into a beautiful heartfelt ceremony, that can involve everyone including young ones also.

For many at a young age the loss of a pet may be their first experience of death and being involved can often help as we share happy memories and stories, songs and certain rituals perhaps that comfort and bring joy too.

Please contact me if you feel I can be of service to you.
